This craft pointed the way for the use of rigid, demountable, side bodies. This is now accepted as standard on small hovercraft designs such as the Slingsby and Griffon designs.

Members of the WMT team were responsible for the modification and detailed design of this craft for a conversion to an Oil pollution response vessel.

With a radiator cooled engine installation the craft saw service in an area with ambient temperatures exceeding 40⁰C.
